From markets to retail – find us here…

We’d like to take a moment to thank all the good folks who’ve stopped by to discover and purchase Kalai products at markets around Sydney recently, from Kirribilli to Castle Hill. I also want to say how much I’ve appreciated those who’ve just stopped for a chat, discussing the possibilities for a sustainable future, and appreciating the ethical focus of Kalai.

That’s the greatest thing about doing markets, you get to meet so many kind and lovely people. And I’ve been so thrilled to know that so many of us are aware of and are on the path to living a more ethically sound and sustainable future.

We’re going to be taking a hiatus from markets over the Sydney winter, but we are definitely not disappearing! Instead we are taking shelter at the wonderful initiative that is The Green Street Collective in Sydney. The newly opened shop, housed in a super-cool warehouse space, is what you might call an ethical department store. It’s a pretty unique retail concept and is set to become the go-to destination for people seeking to shop ethical brands.

From homewares and soft furnishings to vegan shoes and apparel, the store is a collaboration of local businesses that are passionate about quality handcrafted products that make a difference in our world. As well as Kalai‘s towels, blankets and kaftans, you’ll find beautiful organic cotton sleepwear by Moonbird, Inkaas vegan shoes and the vibrant prints of apparel by Stitch’d, ethically produced in Bali, and more. And the selection is growing all the time.

The Green Street Collective will be holding its launch party this Thursday May 10, 5pm-9pm at 15 Green Street (perfectly named street, right?!), Brookvale, NSW 2100. Come along to check out what’s available and to support the shift towards ethical, sustainable living. See you there!

PS. We’ll be back at the markets in spring but keep watching this space for news and musings until then!

We'd love to hear from you
